Barbara Arrowsmith
Barbara Arrowsmith, 62, is a mezzo-soprano opera singer, actor, and music and voice teacher. She has sung with the Nashville Opera chorus through more than 40 productions. Barbara traces her love of music back to her earliest memories. “The first table manners that made my life miserable were ‘Don’t sing at the table!’” she says. But it was Barbara’s father, Jim Kelly, who talked her into joining the Nashville Opera chorus, for which she is especially grateful.

Barbara met her husband, Peter, in the church choir in her home town of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. They have been married for 41 years and have two children, Kelly and Kevin, and two grandchildren, Austin and Emma. Barbara loves spending time with her grandchildren, who call her “Diva.”

Barbara also enjoys traveling, singing in the church choir, and having lunch with her girlfriends. She clearly finds happiness in her full life: “I am blessed beyond belief!”
