Silver Stars contest rules
All Silver Stars participants must be 60 years of age or older by August 20, 2011.
First-, second-, and third-place winners from previous Silver Stars competitions are ineligible to compete again.
Auditions are open to singers, musicians, and dancers. Solos, duets, and groups are welcome. Please, no poetry, pet tricks, comedy, or routines other than dance or musical.
Silver Stars performances should not contain objectionable material, i.e. violent, suggestive, or otherwise offensive content. HealthSpring reserves the right to reject entries at any time based on content or appropriateness of material.
Auditions will be limited to the first 150 individuals or groups to register for each location.
Ten finalists will be selected from both audition locations in Nashville and Memphis. Finalists will compete in the finals for first, second, and third place:
- First prize: $5,000
- Second prize: $2,000
- Third prize: $500
Auditions will be held in Nashville at Red Rooster Music Hall on August 20 and 21 and in Memphis at Minglewood Hall on August 27 and 28.
Finals will be held in Nashville at the historic Ryman Auditorium on October 23, 2011 from 4 until 6 p.m.
